Or, it can be just to enclose an area of the patio for when the weather is poor, and telescope open for when it the conditions are more agreeable. This style of lean-to structure can be in any roof shape to compliment your garden and its surroundings.

The lean-to or against a wall structure is attached to a building or your home with a receiving channel – with one element staying permanently in place.  The other elements can retract back off the pool or patio giving an open-air space when the weather permits.
